OPTEX to give UK debut to FlipX indoor sensor series at The Security Event

(The Security Event, 25-27 April 2023, Stand 4/H90, Birmingham) – OPTEX’s UK team will use The Security Event to showcase FlipX, its new range of indoor intrusion detectors, the first time the sensors have been displayed at a UK event.

The new FlipX sensor series – which comprises the FlipX Standard and FlipX Advanced models – are equipped with an innovative lens feature that can be ‘flipped’ to provide both a narrow and wide detection in a single sensor.  The range can be utilised and deployed in a wide variety of indoor environments and sites, with the Grade 2 FlipX Standard sensor perfect for protecting residential settings; whilst the Grade 3 FlipX Advanced sensors are designed to protect the highest security sites, such as banks, data centres and high-value retail stores.

OPTEX will also use The Security Event to introduce its latest evolution in fibre optic sensing technology with the new Fiber Sensys EchoPoint™. This new series of sensor makes use of its Distributed Acoustic Sensors (DAS) which is an intelligent detection algorithm that provides pinpoint detection of +/- 6m in a range of up to 100km.

The team will be running live demonstrations for its intelligent visual monitoring solution, CHeKT, throughout the event. The CHeKT solution ‘bridges’ together all components (cameras, sensors, access control etc) of a security setup into a visually verified monitored solution, this in turn, allows it to be professionally monitored by any Alarm Receiving Centres, fostering a system that removes all opportunity for false alarms that result in false responses.

OPTEX will also be showcasing live the precision of its the REDSCAN Mini LiDAR sensors – ideal for protecting high value assets and data centres through its utilisation of LiDAR technology. LiDAR technology helps protect areas from security breaches and intrusion whilst improving reliability of motion detection and surveillance.

An area of the stand will be dedicated to demonstrating OPTEX’s multi-layered approach to security, with a combination of intelligent technologies and sensors being utilised to protect different areas of a site from perimeter to highly classified areas.

Neil Foster, Project Development Manager, OPTEX EMEA, says The Security Event provides the ideal opportunity to engage with partners and customers from across the UK security market and industry: “We are excited to showcase and demonstrate our portfolio of leading sensing solutions at The Security Event, including the UK debut of our innovative new FlipX Series and EchoPoint DAS.

“Throughout the event, we will be running engaging and interactive live demonstrations on the stand, showcasing how our portfolio of leading sensing technologies – including LiDAR, fibre optic, radar and visual verification – can be utilised to create a multi-layered security system that provides highly accurate and reliable detection to suit the specific needs of a range of sites and environments.”
