Custom Consoles (www.customconsoles.co.uk) has chosen the 2019 British-Irish Airports Expo as the launch venue for the latest version of its SteelBase and SteelBase Lite range of technical control furniture. New enhancements include the inclusion of CDF (Compact Density Fibreboard) doors and side panels offering greater robustness and manufacturing versatility than traditional MDF.
British-Irish Airports Expo will be held at Olympia, London, June 11th-12th. Exhibiting on stand D2, Custom Consoles will be represented by Managing Director Neil Reid and Sales Manager Gary Fuller.
"We developed SteelBase to combine the robustness required by the utilities and marine markets with the ergonomic excellence and attractive styling naturally expected by customers across all industries," says Neil Reid. "CDF has the extra advantage of being eco-friendly by eliminating the need for plastic components such as cooling-vent slots which can now be machined into CDF itself."
Also on the show stand will be a desk from Custom Consoles' Module-R series which allows customers to specify control room furniture and equipment storage facilities from a very wide range of mix-and-matchable elements. These include rack-mount equipment pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs with concealed cable ducting.
An example of Custom Consoles' matching MediaWall monitor display mounting system will be exhibited. MediaWall allows flat-screen monitor displays of practically any width to be constructed from standard horizontal and vertical support elements. MediaWall can be deployed as a fully self-supporting structure or coupled directly to a control room wall. Individual screens can be positioned so that the edges meet exactly to form a continuous horizontal display limited only by the boundary of the monitor panel itself.
"BIA Expo is a logical show venue for us as SteelBase, Module-R and MediaWall have attracted many customers in both the civil and defence aviation sectors," adds Gary Fuller. "Example applications of our desks including baggage handling control and supervision facilities at Gatwick and East Midlands airports as well as control desks for RAF Shawbury, the US Air Force at Lakenheath and Mildenhall, and Guernsey airport."
