Central location offers faster and more efficient market access for Europe, Asia, America and Middle East.
Manufacturers from the European and other nearby regions now have a single, trustworthy place to go for comprehensive testing and certification of access control and security solutions. UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a company with worldwide operations in the field of security technology, has opened a new security laboratory in centrally-located Frankfurt am Main to provide more streamlined market access to regional enterprises through certifications according to international standards. In this new laboratory location, UL will carry out all the tests required for the award of the CE- as well as the EU test mark simultaneously in a single certification process.
The new security laboratory in Frankfurt provides manufacturers of access control and security solutions with experienced resources at a centralized location at which to comprehensively test and certify their products, including everything ranging from burglary reporting control centres, motion alarms, solutions for facial recognition and fingerprint scanners to power supply systems and ATMs. The solutions portfolio also includes preliminary tests, observance of compliance guidelines testing, as well as specially developed testing procedures for individual product requirements.
“Our goal is to detect potential security problems in through early, individual testing procedures and in this way facilitate smooth, fast time-to-market for our customers," said Stephanie Lane, engineering director with UL’s Life Safety & Security division. “Customers can benefit from reduced costs and increased efficiency thanks to the individually combinable services, and also rely upon the know-how of local UL experts with international experience. UL can be found around the world, from Europe and the USA to the Middle East and Asia. The new location in Frankfurt means we are now creating a central gateway to this broad network for European customers."
On 7 November, stakeholders will be able to form their own impression of the efficiencies and opportunities offered by the new UL security laboratory in Frankfurt during an Open House event.
