Leading provider of professional cloud-based security solutions for the UK and Ireland commercial, industrial and residential markets, RISCO, has announced a new partnership with top apprenticeship training provider, Skills for Security. The partnership aims to help address the national shortage of 30,000 security engineers and the sectoral skills gap.
RISCO solutions including the hybrid intruder alarm system, LightSYS+, will be integrated into all six Skills for Security training centres and incorporated into the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician (FESST) curriculum, providing apprentices with hands-on experience and knowledge of the latest security technology, preparing them for a successful career in the industry.
The collaboration coincides with the release of the Home Office’s Future Security Careers brochure, following research by the Joint Security and Resilience Centre which revealed that security businesses are more likely to report gaps in the skills of their workers than other businesses (https://www.jsarc.org/our-work/skills/).
Mark Taylor, RISCO’s UK and Ireland managing director, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating: "RISCO takes pride in collaborating with Skills for Security and is committed to supporting apprenticeships. We are dedicated to playing our part in addressing the shortage of engineers and the skills gap in the security industry, nurturing the next generation of talent."
Added David Scott, managing director of Skills for Security: "We are thrilled to have RISCO on board as a sponsor and partner. This collaboration will not only benefit our apprentices, but also the entire security industry as we work together to address the skills crisis."
With this partnership, RISCO and Skills for Security are taking proactive steps towards tackling the industry's skills shortage and ensuring a bright future for the security sector. Both companies are committed to providing top-notch training and support for the next generation of security professionals.
One of RISCO's own apprentices, Mehedi Hussain, recently completed his Skills for Security apprenticeship, achieving a distinction. He has now joined the company’s expanding UK-based technical support team as a technical support technician, where he will handle some of the 23,000 calls received annually, providing professional security installers with first-line support. The department also delivers a comprehensive programme of bespoke contractor technical training events, webinars and videos.
RISCO’s innovative, high-quality portfolio includes wired, wireless, hybrid and Bus-enabled technology, integrated systems and smart automation solutions; products are available directly and via ADI Global Distribution.
