Nedap introduces MACE at IFSEC: people identification with use of smartphones as virtual access card
Nedap Identification Systems launches a new platform, which enables its partners to use smartphones as containers of virtual access cards. MACE is a platform consisting of readers, apps and a cloud based server that enable the use of smartphones to identify people. During IFSEC in London, from the 21st until the 23rd of June, Nedap’s MACE platform will be demonstrated to the market.
MACE is an acronym for Mobile Access Control Entities. With the introduction of this platform, Nedap responds to the global shift of smartphone credentials replacing physical cards. MACE supports Bluetooth, NFC and QR-codes to identify people using virtual credentials, which are stored in a MACE app. This app will be available for both iPhone and Android from IFSEC on. QR-codes are used as an alternative in situations where it is undesirable or impossible to use wireless communication technologies.
Unleashing the potential of smartphones
“MACE is a very valuable addition to our portfolio. Since we have a long track-record in the design and development of RFID readers for the security and parking industry, it is a logical next step to support our partners to unleash the potential of smartphones in their access control systems. Our apps, readers and cloud based service seamlessly work together with third party systems to build a user friendly and cost effective solution. We look forward to work with our partner channel in the upcoming years to make this the best smartphone identification platform in the industry,” states Maarten Mijwaart, General Manager of Nedap Identification Systems.
Supports any access control system
MACE can be used in combination with any access control system or any other system that requires the swift identification of people, such as parking management systems or registration systems. Users always remain in full control of their phone and can easily activate and de-activate Bluetooth or NFC communication.
Nedap will demonstrate its new MACE platform during IFSEC London (21-23 June) at booth E1450. Visit the MACE landing pageto find out more.
