Axis co-founder Martin Gren named most influential in security and fire industry
The co-inventor of the IP camera and co-founder of Axis Communications, Martin Gren, has been named as the most influential person in the global security and fire industries by the international fire and security exhibition (IFSEC) with his significant influence on the industry particularly noted.
Together with Carl-Axel Alm, Gren, 50, invented the world's first IP camera in 1996 and helped Axis Communications become the global leader in networked video it is today. Since it was founded, Axis has led the worldwide convergence from analogue CCTV to digital video surveillance.
Also making the list in third place is Per Björkdahl an Axis employee that works with ONVIF. The list also includes the chief executive of G4S, an Axis partner, and Microsoft's chief security officer.
The award was bestowed by IFSEC, the international fire and security exhibition which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
With 19 years' of engineering and entrepreneurial experience, Gren remains a member of the board of Axis AB, the Swedish parent company.
Over the years, Gren has been one of the driving forces behind several of Axis' new business and flagship products in Europe, Asia and the United States. These have included network print servers, IBM connectivity products, ASIC's and scan servers, as well as playing an instrumental part in Axis' state-of-the-art business, in particular its network video camera technology.

Gren is also a board member of Tobii Technology AB, H Lunden Holding AB and Askero Sagoboks Förlag AB.
Axis will be exhibiting at IFSEC in Hall 4, 4/E90 which takes place in Birmingham from 13 to 16 May.
