Atlas Security shortlisted for Security Guarding Company of the Year

Atlas Security, a privately-owned and purpose-led security services business, has been shortlisted for Security Guarding Company of the Year at the Fire and Security Matters Awards 2023. The prestigious award category recognises security guarding companies leading the industry.

Atlas Security was established as a people-focused business with the goal of redefining how people view and experience security services. Since its launch in 2021, the business has grown by over 120%, as a result of several contract successes with landmark Central London properties. In its growth, Atlas has created opportunities for career development for its people, while continuing in its mission to create happiness for its staff and customers.

The way Atlas trains security officers reflects this mission. It has formed an in-house learning and development team and developed learning on an interactive educative tool, supporting security officers’ personal and professional development. This innovation has seen high levels of engagement on the platform.

Moreover, since its inception the company became accredited as a Living Wage Foundation Recognised Service Provider, introduced a new employee benefits package for health and wellbeing, and partnered with a charity of its people’s choice. It has also improved systems and working conditions with new control rooms, and implemented an annual employee happiness survey in order to better understand its people’s wants and needs.

Gary Stanton, Managing Director at Atlas Security, says it is wonderful to see Atlas being considered among the big players of the industry while still a young company: “The nomination is not only great recognition, but also great motivation for us to keep steering Atlas towards our mission and goals. Since its inception, our business has been laser focused on what is our greatest asset – our people – and we will continue to work towards their personal and professional development.

“Our aim is to engage people in the profession and encourage younger talent to help tackle the industry wide shortfall of licensed personnel, for which Atlas is looking to introduce apprenticeship schemes. This will also help deliver on the commitments to clients and the happiness of our employees and customers.”

The Fire and Security Matters Awards will take place on 15 June at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry where the year’s winners will be announced.
