40 Years of Security Essen

40 Years of Security Essen

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, Security Essen will present itself in its best form: On September 23 - 26, 2014, 1,045 exhibitors from around 40 nations will once again make Messe Essen the global market for civil security and fire protection. For the first time, the premier global fair will encompass more than 40 market segments - from mechanical and digital security technology via fire protection and CCTV right up to IT security and counter-terrorism. This comprehenisve overview of the market will make Security Essen the undisputed number one in the sector. Around 39,000 trade visitors from more than 110 countries will once again be expected at the fair.

Every two years, the international expert world for civil security and fire protection demonstrates its innovative force at Messe Essen - all the renowned manufacturers and major industrial nations will be represented at Security Essen in 2014 too. There will be more international cooperative booths: In addition to Great Britain (Hall 3), Italy (Hall 2), China, Taiwan and Korea (Halls 8 and 9) as well as the USA (Hall 5), Hungary (Hall 4) will also be represented with a cooperative booth for the first time.

The Whole World of Security and Fire Protection Technology
As the impetus-providing premier global fair, Security Essen will offer solutions to the latest challenges in 2014 too. For example, the IT Security Theme Park in Hall 5 will introduce the newest technologies for combatting cyber and eavesdropping attacks as well as industrial espionage. For the first time, the international trade fair will also be dedicated to the new trend of global travel security - with solutions for protecting employees and corporate know-how during foreign trips (Security Forum II, Hall 7).

Security Essen will once again examine the top subject of fire protection in no fewer than two halls (1 and 7). Here, 140 exhibitors will show product innovations for mobile, constructional and installation technology fire protection: from the remote control of smoke detectors via intelligent digital alarm systems right up to the emission-free deployment vehicle. The range on offer at the fair will be rounded off by live demonstrations on the Fire Protection Theme Day on September 25. Amongst other highlights, exhibitors will demonstrate the utilisation of new aerosol extinguishing systems for fire extinguishing installations, fire suppression installations against beginning explosions as well as new fog systems for the non-destructive simulation of tunnel and large-scale fires.

Growth Field of Security Services
In 2014, security service providers will be represented even more strongly in Essen: The special show entitled "Protection, Security & Service" will therefore move into the larger Hall 6 in the immediate vicinity of the security vehicles. Amongst other exhibitors, eight member companies of Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Geld- und Wertdienste e. V. (BDGW - "Federal Association of German Money and Valuables Services") will examine the latest trends on a cooperative booth here. For the first time, seven member companies of Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft ("Federal Association of the Security Industry") will also appear together. Moreover, both associations will introduce their work in greater detail on a third cooperative booth.

Around 100 Lectures on Highly Topical Subjects
The latest challenges in the sector and possible solutions will be the top subjects at both the all-day Security Forums in Halls 5 and 7. One important catch phrase in this respect will be IT security. In live hacking sessions, IT professionals from universities and companies will demonstrate how easy data and knowledge theft is and how you can protect yourself from it. Moreover, new network solutions for Internet-based video surveillance will be introduced in the field of CCTV. The forums will also deal with new solutions for fire protection, electronic and mechanical security technology, public security as well as money transport.

Security Innovation Award: Search for Outstanding Product Innovations
As an international innovation showcase, the premier global fair will offer the optimum environment for introducing new products, processes and services. Particularly pioneering innovations from the Technology & Products, Services and Fire Protection categories will be distinguished with the Security Innovation Award in Gold, Silver and Bronze. In 2014, the mark of distinction is registering particularly great interest. A total of 95 exhibitors have put themselves forward as candidates. The winners will be honoured in the evening before Security Essen.

Premier Global Fair Will Support Careers Planning
After the successful premiere two years ago, the Training and Further Education Day at Security Essen will go into the second round: On the first day of the fair (September 23, 2014), schoolchildren, lateral entrants and students will be able to obtain information about training possibilities and occupational perspectives in the security industry. In 2012, several hundred schoolchildren and trainees made use of the chance to initiate direct discussions with representatives of the sector at the fair.

Premiere in 2014: Specialist Guided Tours for Planners and Architects
In 2014, Security Essen will offer tours of the fair for planners, architects, engineers and representatives of the real estate industry for the first time. Twice a day, guided tours will start on the subject areas of security and fire protection. The executing partner will be Deutsche Gesellschaft für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit (DGWZ - "German Society for Economic Cooperation").
