Multi-site made simple with Paxton10
Paxton’s combined video management and access control platform, Paxton10, has received another innovative and highly anticipated update. The award-winning system now allows administrators to manage multiple sites, spanning cities, countries and even continents.
Paxton10 is the newest and most powerful system developed by the international security manufacturer Paxton. It first launched in the UK in 2019 and is now available to Paxton customers in Ireland, France, Germany, Scandinavia, South Africa, Benelux and the U.S. The new system is critically acclaimed among industry experts, as well as a favourite for Paxton installers.
One Paxton installer and the Managing Director of Seen Services, Bradley Lucas, said of Paxton10: “Due to its simple out of the box installation process, this is our go to access control solution. The system can be managed with ease from anywhere. Our engineers love using it, as do our clients.”
Paxton have been developing and updating Paxton10 based on real-time feedback from their installers and end-users. This is to maximise the systems future potential for expanding businesses with multiple sites, and public spaces such as school clusters or healthcare trusts. The installer and customer needs are what continues to drive the direction of Paxton10, which is leading the way as a unique combined system that can now support multi-site management.
With the latest software release, it is now possible for up to 100 sites to be managed by a single Paxton10 server. To connect the sites via the user-friendly web-based software, an activation code is used to simply identify a Paxton10 controller at the destination site, and the system does the rest. The Multi-site feature in Paxton10 can be set up in minutes with minimal technical knowledge. It does not need a VPN, additional license nor any additional infrastructure.
Even with the introduction of Multi-site, a single Paxton10 system can still support up to 1000 doors and 1000 cameras. Site administrators can add up to 50,000 users, with no additional license fees. This makes the system cost effective and is continuously scalable at the touch of a button using Paxton’s cleverly designed software.
Thomas Faith, the Paxton10 Product Manager, discusses how installers and end-users can benefit from the new Multi-site management functionality:
What was the inspiration behind the latest release for Paxton10?
Paxton10 is an ever-evolving system, developed through feedback from our installers and their end-users. It is their wants and needs that is the inspiration behind these new updates. Multi-site is a feature that has been highly anticipated by many existing and potential new Paxton10 users.
Our overall vision will always be the driving force to continue developing the system, which is to make Paxton10 the simplest access control and video management system in the world.
A single Paxton10 system can now work across multiple sites. Can you explain what the benefit of this is?
Multi-site management capability is applicable to many customers in the key markets that use the Paxton10 system. Schools, healthcare facilities, commercial offices, manufacturing plants, residential buildings, and many public sector buildings - just to name a few. A lot of these businesses or organisations require the ability to extend access control across multiple locations. This could be two buildings on one site, or 100 buildings spanning multiple continents, and everything in between.
Now they can achieve this easily, with no complications, and less expense than ever before.
Can you explain how the new Multi-site feature is setup within the Paxton10 online interface?
What’s more, there is no licence to pay and it is completely backwards compatible. Meaning that any Paxton10 Server already installed can be used to manage up to 100 sites and up to 1000 doors.
What does Multi-site mean for end-users?
If you can use a keyboard and an internet browser, you can achieve and maintain Multi-site with Paxton10.
What is next for Paxton10?
Paxton10 will continue to evolve throughout this year. We are currently working some very exciting updates that we hope to release this Summer. However, I am afraid you will have to wait until then for more information.
