BSIA members to showcase excellence at Security Essen 2016

From Tuesday 27th September to Friday 30th September, members of the BSIA’s Export Council will be showcasing their latest products and services to visitors of Security Essen 2016.

Held every two years, Security Essen is one of the World’s largest and most important security and fire exhibitions. Attracting over 1,000 exhibitors from as many as 40 different nations, Security Essen provides visitors to the show with an opportunity to view the latest in security innovation from a wide range of international brands.

The last edition of Security Essen, held in 2014, attracted an impressive 40,000 trade visitors from more than 110 countries, and according to Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of show organiser Messe Essen, it is this large, international audience that makes the event so important.

Indeed, the impressive visitor numbers, combined with a huge range of leading security companies, has cemented Security Essen’s reputation as an unmissable event. Kuhrt explains: “Together with the global security industry, we are pleased about the unsurpassed quality of the range on offer, internationality and participation.”

2016’s edition will focus on six main areas of industry; mechanical security systems, cyber security, CCTV, fire prevention, services and perimeter security and BSIA members are looking forward to demonstrating the very latest technology in some of these areas.

As Approved Trade Organisation for the security sector, the BSIA will be arranging the UK Pavilion which enables UK security exporters to exhibit under the same ‘Great Britain brand’.

Daren Wood, Membership and Export Services Manager at the BSIA, explains: “The UK enjoys a positive international reputation when it comes to the provision of security products and services, in part due to the innovation which has become synonymous with the UK’s security industry.

“The UK Pavilion provides international visitors with a focal point to view the latest technology from UK brands who are globally renowned for their quality, integrity and innovation.”

BSIA members exhibiting at Security Essen this year include:

GJD – Hall 3.0, Booth 3B60

Award-winning UK manufacturer, designer and supplier of professional external detector equipment, as well as Infra-Red and White-Light LED illuminators, GJD Manufacturing Ltd will be exhibiting at Security Essen 2016.

GJD’s product experts will be demonstrating the innovative D-TECT Laser at Essen. The D-TECT Laser is a laser based security device designed to create virtual curtains and surveillance security zones. The D-TECT Laser is programmable to within 10cm and operates with the highest levels of precision for accurate and reliable intrusion detection.

Visitors to the show will also be able to view the Clarius Plus Infra-Red and White-Light LED illuminators and the D-TECT IP external motion detector range. The Clarius Plus range is specially designed for the CCTV market and safety-critical applications. Key advantages include an interchangeable lens diffuser system, which allows the user to quickly and easily change the angle of illumination and elliptical beam profiles, which allow more light to be delivered exactly where it is needed.

GJD’s D-TECT IP range is an advanced replacement for traditional analogue detectors. The D-TECT IP combines all of the versatile benefits of the company’s D-TECT range, paired with IP connectivity to provide reliable IP based security detection.

There are many key features of the D-TECT IP including its user-friendly web-based interface, which provides real time remote monitoring access, as well as a whole host of benefits including the ability to monitor from anywhere in the world, at any time.

Another benefit is that detector settings can be remotely accessed and altered via the interface, including the ability to alter the LUX level trigger, alarm sensitivity and detection range, as well as setting the activation for specific times.

The D-TECT IP range also works in conjunction with CCTV cameras to provide visual confirmation of the activation.

Ana Maria Sagra-Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at GJD, comments: “We are really excited to announce that we are exhibiting at Security Essen. It is always well attended and caters to everyone within the security industry, from manufacturers, distributors and installers, to consultants and end users.

“This year, we are showcasing our cutting-edge product range and will demonstrate the wide range of applications for our products. We are really looking forward to meeting with our customers and prospective customers to show how GJD can help with their security projects.”

Storm Interface – Hall 3.0, Booth 3B61

Leading heavy duty keypads, keyboards and custom computer interface devices manufacturer, Storm Interface will be exhibiting at Security Essen 2016.

Being introduced to Security Essen for the first time this year, will be Storm Interface’s new product range, the S60. This integrated keypad and contactless reader is configured for installation in a door frame or mullion. Its narrow footprint makes it ideal for use where materials surrounding the door frame present an unsuitable fixing surface such as polished stone or glass panels for example. This toughened keypad / reader features chromed metal or illuminated polymer keys with permanently engraved keytop characters. It is rated for continuous outdoor use in exposed, unsupervised locations.

Featuring genuine HID® MultiCLASS contactless technology, this access control keypad offers enhanced security by dual authentication. Authorised access through a secured door or barrier can be gained by presentation of an authorised contactless card, token or Seos® compatible NFC device and / or entry of a valid PIN.

Visitors to this year’s show will be able to see the new S60 products demonstrated alongside Storm Interface’s S40 and StrikeMaster keypads.

Senior Executive Vice President of Storm Interface, Peter Jarvis, is looking forward to meeting with visitors at the show: “There really is no other security trade show quite like Security Essen and we look forward to demonstrating our vandal resistant, outdoor rated keypads to the attendees of the show. Storm recognises the importance of exhibiting at Security Essen because it enables us to reach a large sector of the European security industry.”

Wavesight – Hall 2, Booth 2A07

Wavesight is a UK-based leader in the design, manufacture and supply of outdoor wireless network, hybrid energy and mobile surveillance solutions for the professional security industry, and be exhibiting at Security Essen for the first time this year.

At Security Essen, Wavesight will be introducing their new generation wireless radios including the Scorpion S300 and Firefly which boast data rates of up to 300 Mbps and distances up to 40 KMS. Wavesight will also be introducing their innovative security solutions involving hybrid energy; SolarJacket and SunTower.

Wavesight offers complete remote power surveillance solutions that can be customised for CCTV applications – fixed or mobile – in remote locations, where normal utility power is not available or costly to install. The system can be mounted on all types of street furniture or pole and works with any make or type of CCTV camera.

The self-sufficient multi-functional jackets offer a wide range of application possibilities which can also be adapted and configured according to individual requirements.

The systems deliver the highest levels of performance, reliability and maintainability. With the Smart Controller, power can be optimised from different sources – battery, solar or wind, allowing optimal system performance. The Smart Controller helps provide optimal power for cloudy days through its intelligent performance concept while cutting back on sunny days when extra energy is not required.

The unique Smart Controller with its intelligent Cloud Management Platform elevates off-grid systems to a new level of performance and reliability. The Cloud-Control is a web-based analytics solution, which gives you 24/7 insight and control of your device’s operating status and power generation effectiveness. With the Cloud-Control you can monitor performance of the power generation and power consumption of your system via computer or smart phone, change exposure profiles, dim the light, check the batteries, modify profile setups, execute system diagnostics, and much more.

Your system is also automatically monitored by the Cloud-Control, so that problems can be identified and dealt with at any time.

Wavesight Managing Director, David Saldanha, comments: “This being our first participation at Essen, we hope to expose our company and technologies to a wide selection of system integrators and end users, enabling us to expand our footprint across Europe.”
